Indira Canteen Units

Project Overview

The Indira Canteen project is a landmark public welfare initiative by the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Government of Karnataka, aimed at providing affordable and nutritious meals to urban citizens. Designed as a scalable and efficient model, the project involved the development of 186 canteen units, each planned with a built-up area of 1533 sq. ft., ensuring functionality, hygiene, and accessibility.

Executed over a 9-month timeline, the canteens were strategically designed to blend seamlessly into urban environments while supporting high daily footfall. The initiative plays a crucial role in promoting food security and social equity across Karnataka, reinforcing the government’s vision of a hunger-free state through sustainable public infrastructure.
